Built by First Light Optics

FLO was launched from a bedroom in 2006. Today, we are the UK's largest supplier of astronomy equipment to amateur astronomers and professional/academic institutions.

Sixteen highly caffeinated colleagues work from our warehouse, workshop and manufacturing facility in Exeter and remotely from homes across the UK.

As a specialist supplier, we provide reliable advice based on experience. We also design and develop astronomy products and manufacture several of them in-house.

Outreach and education are increasingly important in our business, so we routinely support events, talks, presentations, charities, societies and institutes.

We also have our own remote observatory in Spain at a dark sky location and an in-house ‘Outreach Coordinator’.

Expert Support

Training and support is provided by experienced astrophotographers who have been using remotely operating observatories for many years. We are familiar with all aspects of the equipment used at the Remote Observatory and experts at using the various software packages employed.

In addition we work with PixelSkies in Southern Spain where our observatories are located and the team there are on hand for any physical interventions that may be required (USB cables that need replacing, cleaning, mount maintenance etc..).
